Blackwattle Bay development partner shortlist announced
Blackwattle Bay has hit another major milestone with three developers shortlisted in the procurement of a development partner to deliver the urban renewal of the existing 3.6ha Sydney Fish Market site.
After significant interest in the project from industry and an open and competitive Expression of Interest process, the following have been selected to proceed to the next stage of procurement:
-
Lendlease Development Pty Ltd
-
Mirvac Office Developments Pty Ltd
-
Stockland Urban Development Sub 2C Pty Ltd
These developers have extensive experience in urban renewal and delivering housing, world-class public spaces, as well as vibrant retail and commercial precincts.
When complete, this landmark site will deliver housing, commercial spaces, retail and cultural experiences to create a vibrant, sustainable and thriving community. Over half of the precinct will be open and accessible to the public, including a foreshore promenade which will be the final piece of a 15km continuous harbourside walk connecting Woolloomooloo to Rozelle Bay.
This opportunity forms part of the broader urban renewal of Blackwattle Bay precinct bookended by the new Sydney Fish Market (set to be completed in 2025) and a new 1.1-hectare park at Bank Street, which will be delivered as a priority.
Access to and from the area will be improved with the future Pyrmont Metro Station nearby, while active transport links will connect Blackwattle Bay to the new Sydney Fish Market, Darling Harbour, Barangaroo, the Opera House and beyond.
