What's next

The Blackwattle Bay Precinct was rezoned in 2022 following a State Significant Precinct planning process.

The new Sydney Fish Market is opening on 19 January 2026, and the existing site will be vacated.

Renewal of the existing Sydney Fish Market site has progressed through a procurement process and Mirvac has been announced as the preferred developer. Mirvac will deliver the vision and development outcomes set out in the 2022 rezoning, including delivery of a foreshore promenade and overwater boardwalk.  The other three sites within the Blackwattle Bay precinct are privately owned and will be developed in their own time.

Bank Street Park will begin construction in 2026 following the signing of BESIX Watpac as the construction contractor.
